Evangelisation Day – the heart of the Church’s Mission - Saturday 17th May - Buckfast Abbey

In the light of the death of Pope Francis, we recall that his first major encyclical to the Church was on the necessity to proclaim the Gospel and the mission to evangelise.

The aim of this day is to explore the nature of this mission and how we can put it into practice in our daily lives.

This day will be of particular interest to all who are already endeavouring to share their faith or who would like to know how to get started.

This event will be held at Buckfast Abbey conference centre on Saturday 17th May 10am-3pm. ( Dart View Room 4).

There is an opportunity to go to the Abbey mass at noon.

Booking is essential and needs to be done through plymouth-crownhill@prcdtr.org.uk

Enquiries: 01752 701660.

We look forward to seeing you at this inspiring day.

Assisted Suicide Legislation - Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

The important vote for all MPs on the assisted suicide legislation, known as the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, is likely to take place on 25th April.

The charity Right to Life UK has a simple online mechanism to allow people to contact their Member of Parliament and it only takes a few moments to submit a message to ask an MP to stop assisted suicide being rushed into law.

It can be accessed here: https://righttolife.org.uk/asvote.

You may also have received in the post a petition from the Care Not Killing organisation.  Parishioners can also sign the Care Not Killing organisations petition online at https://carenotkilling.org.uk/petition/ and email their MP.

(Care not Killing is supported by the CBCEW https://www.cbcew.org.uk/bishops-urge-catholics-to-oppose-euthanasia-and-support-care-not-killing-alliance/)

A range of further resources on opposing assisted suicide is available here: https://www.cbcew.org.uk/opposing-assisted-suicide/
